In April 2014, Susie went to The Oasis, a youth center in Grayslake, for what seemed like a normal weekend of live music.

That evening, Too Dear Fence took the stage… and Susie’s attention was immediately stolen by one very cute drummer behind the kit.

Naturally, she spent the rest of the set totally focused on the music (and definitely not watching the drummer the entire time).

After the show, Susie was busy trying to figure out how she was possibly going to talk to him… when Kasen made things much easier by locking eyes with her, walking right up, introducing himself, and casually changing the course of both of their lives.

Plans were made to hang out later that day, which involved Disney Infinity, Just Dance, Link’s Crossbow Training, and an instant connection was made over video games.

And just like that, what started with a chance meeting at a weekend show became a friendship, a love story, and the beginning of forever.
